Wards Person

About this role

We have an opening for a Wards Person/Orderly in our St Andrew's Private (Ipswich) clinic and are hoping to speak to people who are looking for a new career path and would enjoy the challenges and rewards I-MED can offer!  

This is a casual opportunity, working Monday to Friday shift hours between the hours of 8am-330pm and 12-1730pm with fellow job share worker. 

Key accountabilities include: 

• Perform and assist with patient movement in the Medical Imaging service area, and the hospital when clinically required 
• Assist with general clinic tasks and other patients of the department in any manner as directed by technical/clerical/medical staff 
• Ensure Workplace Health and Safety legislation is complied with 
• Providing excellent customer service and patient care 
• Maintaining strong working relationships with patients, referrers, staff and managers 

What we're looking for: 

• Basic ability to handle patient care with compassion and tact, ensuring the patients privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained 
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact amiably and effectively with both the public and colleagues 
• Ability to function effectively as part of a diagnostic health team 
• Good time management and organisational skills 
• Ability to meet relevant QLD Health workplace requirements, including Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases
