About this role
I-MED Northeast Region is seeking a highly experienced, qualified MIT for the full-time position of MRI Supervisor at I-MED Lilydale. Provides MRI services with full Medicare eligibility operating Monday to Friday, 6:00am-9pm, with occasional weekend work and the successful applicant would need to be available to work across these hours.
The successful applicant must be highly motivated to grow the service to meet the demands of a fully eligible system and this will include resourcing across extended hours.
You must also demonstrate good communication skills, have excellent time management, enjoy teaching and enjoy the challenges that such a position will present.
Interested applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of MRI scanning techniques, successfully completed at least ASMIRT Level 1 MRI, have IV cannulation experience and have a demonstrated ability to work closely with Radiologists and other key staff.
Duties will include:
- Working with the Area CMIT to plan and manage the daily technologist workforce requirements to ensure appropriate staff rostering, annual leave planning and managing sick and other leave as required,
- Manage, develop, and mentor technologist staff and provide clinical guidance in the region's clinics,
- Ensure outstanding service delivery and provide supervision of the day-to-day management of the Lilydale MRI department,
- Provide quality improvement initiatives, and review and refine work practices to improve clinical and financial outcomes,
- Provide operational assistance to the Regional Manager
- Provide the highest level of patient care possible,
- Perform routine and specialised MRI procedures to the highest professional standards as required.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to manage, coach and lead MRI staff
- Demonstrated ability to perform high quality MRI examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above,
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Radiologists, patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing,
- Good organisational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks,
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the culture and values of the I-MED Network,
- Ability to adapt, respond and to facilitate change when required.
The successful applicant will need to hold a qualification in Medical Imaging with experience in leadership. Experience in management and or administration is desirable whilst not essential.
